Meet Omar, who joined Zuken’s Bristol office this summer as our new Digital Marketing Manager. Given his status as a newer colleague, I took the opportunity to learn more about his background and get to know him better. Now I’m excited to share his interesting story with you.
Omar’s arrival has already brought fresh perspectives and expertise to our digital marketing efforts, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact he continues to make on our dynamic team.
Picking up different skills and languages
I grew up in the UAE, then moved to Germany and then Egypt for my education, and finally the UK for my master’s degree. I got my Marketing Master’s degree in Nottingham and moved to Bristol to join Symec, a hardware solutions company.
Since then, I’ve worked for different companies in various fields including Scuba Diving at PADI and Cakes at Cakesmiths. Each role has helped me cultivate my digital marketing skills, culminating in my role at Zuken.
My Role as a Digital Marketing Manager
I support our European marketing team with their digital marketing efforts, including digital reporting, content creation and planning, and website support. I have a deep passion for SEO and data analytics, which has been developed over a long period of study. I love being part of a multinational company like Zuken because I get to meet and work with people from all over the world.
With the help of my team, we try to ensure that our customers can find what they need as easily as possible on our website. Other support comes in the form of our blogs, which cover a variety of helpful topics in our industry, to our emails, which keep everyone in the loop on what’s going on at Zuken.
Each Day is Different
My job is so variable that no two days feel the same. I may come in and start planning what our next blog articles are going to be, then start looking at how our website has been performing and if anything needs to be changed, then I could start planning out newsletters and emails to go out to our database.
The Zuken Team
Within the Marketing team, we’ve fostered a culture of support and nurturing that strikes a perfect balance between autonomy and collaborative efforts. It’s an environment where each team member is not only encouraged but also empowered to take ownership of their projects. The autonomy allows for creative freedom and personal initiative, enabling team members to bring their unique perspectives and ideas to the table.
Dungeons & Dragons
Outside of work I love playing Dungeons and Dragons – a game that gives people a chance to express their creativity in different scenarios with imagination being the only limit. I run a table on Monday evenings in the galleries every week with all kinds of people, and it’s always welcome to new players – and my goal is to have everyone leave the table laughing!
