Experience the perfect interaction between software solutions and the operating machinery: From digital to physical.

Day 1 - Oct 9th - 12pm

Scalable software solution for cabinet design & manufacturing

Zuken’s E3.series is a software solution for true concurrent engineering for electrical engineering, with sophisticated requirements for electrical documentation, cabinet and wiring harness design and machine assembly.

E3.series enables an efficient and precise design and manufacturing process for electrical planning, cable planning and wiring harness and cabinet assembly. With an object-oriented architecture, E3.series offers an integrated and consistent design approach that helps to avoid errors, improve quality and reduce design time.

The central management of all relevant data enables the mapping of a “digital twin” which underlies all processes in the entire engineering and manufacturing process.

Speaker: Daniele Beretta – Zuken Italy

Simply plan digitally

Engineering processes must be increasingly faster, more precise and more economical. Today’s market expects simple and easy-to-understand configuration and ordering processes. This requires intelligent tools that optimally support complex planning processes.

The Weidmüller Configurator is a software solution for selecting, configuring and enquiring about mounting rails and rail components from the Weidmüller range. The tool supports continuous engineering workflows from planning with E-CAD systems to documentation.

Speaker: Vincent Vossel – Weidmüller

More Information

Fast and reliable mounting rail assembly

The Klippon© Automated RailAssembler, in combination with the Weidmüller Configurator (WMC) software, enables fully automatic assembly of terminal strips. Using the automated system eliminates the need to pick, assign and position individual terminals. This means that time savings of up to 60% can be achieved during assembly – and even significantly more when taking into account the unmanned operation of up to 7 hours.

Speaker: Viktor Krieger – Weidmüller Timo Tessin – Armbruster Engineering

Performing manual processes safely – with the ELAM system

For more than 20 years, the ELAM software has ensured optimal process control, safe plant control and complete traceability. Digital work instructions for stable, economical and error-free production!

Speaker: Malte Zapf – Armbruster Engineering

Fast and high-quality labelling

In times of busy order books and a increasing shortage of skilled workers, value-added processes must be carried out ever faster, more precisely and more economically. This is especially true for control cabinet construction. Digitalisation and automation are important factors in increasing efficiency.

The Klippon® Automated RailLaser, in conjunction with the Weidmüller Configurator (WMC), enables fully automated labelling of pre-assembled terminal strips. Using terminal blocks with markers already applied eliminates the need to cut out, assign and snap on individual markers. Thus, time savings of up to 90 % can be achieved during the marking process. The laser marking of the terminal strips also meets the highest demands on marking quality.

Speaker: Viktor Krieger – Weidmüller

Marking systems and software

Weidmüller’s marking systems allow you to mark connector markers, device markers, conductor and cable markers as well as labels quickly and reliably. With the M-Print® PRO labelling software, you can label electrical equipment quickly and easily. You can use it to design, print and order your labelling material professionally and quickly. Frames, barcodes, graphics or photos can be integrated effortlessly.

The diverse routines for data conversion enable you to integrate data quickly and flexibly. The Weidmüller printers PrintJet CONNECT and the thermal transfer printers THM MultiMark and THM MultiMark PLUS are available for printing.

Speaker: Faysal Dogan – Weidmüller

Automatic wire harnessing

Automatic cable assembly has been Komax’s DNA for over 40 years. Together with our customers and partners, we develop solutions for control and switchgear engineering that satisfy the high variance and small quantities involved.

Komax – leading today and in the future

As a pioneer and market leader in automated wire processing, Komax provides its customers with innovative, future-proof solutions in all areas where precise contact connections are required. Komax manufactures series machines and customised systems for all levels of automation and customisation for various industries. Komax is a globally active Swiss company that employs over 2200 people worldwide and develops and produces on several continents.

Speaker: Andreas Prosch – Komax AG

Assembly of mounting plates

For the assembly of mounting plates, cut-to-size cable ducts, fully assembled mounting rails and commissioned components are delivered. All components are mounted in a systematic assembly sequence, the correct assembly position is projected directly onto the mounting plate with the ELAM assistant. Electrical tools can be controlled and monitored.

As a basis for the digital work instruction, a component list is imported directly from the circuit diagram into the ELAM system. This enables guided, secured assembly without extensive set-up efforts.

Speaker: Timo Tessin Armbruster Engineering GmbH / Achim Stirner- Zuken

Assisted control cabinet wiring

E3.wiringCockpit provides digital support for control cabinet wiring on a portable terminal. The routing path in the control cabinet is highlighted and all additional information relevant to the user is displayed.

The processing of the individual wires is confirmed with a click and the next wire is displayed. The wiring progress is logged. In the event of an interruption, work can be resumed exactly at this point.

Speaker: Achim Stirner – Zuken

Increase the efficiency of your manufacturing process by up to 80%.

According to the “Electrical Cabinet Construction 4.0” study by the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units at the University of Stuttgart, 72 % of the working time in classic electrical cabinet construction is spent on wiring and mechanical assembly during the installation phase.

The Weidmüller Wire Processing Center (WPC) solves precisely these problems. The software-controlled, semi-automated cable assembly significantly speeds up the production process while ensuring the highest standards of quality.

Working with our tool, that’s the new rule

With Weidmüller’s professional tools, you can do your work faster, better and more precisely than ever before. Even demanding tasks are easy and fatigue-free – almost as if you had superpowers. For over 40 years, we have been developing and manufacturing ergonomic, durable quality tools to meet the highest demands and optimise your work processes. Rely on our experience and be ready for new exploits every day.

Speaker: Lars Brekemeier & Martin Limberg – Weidmüller

Finding instead of searching

Speed counts. Especially in the construction of control cabinets. Here, more than 70 % of the installation time is needed for equipping and wiring. This time can be reduced by 10 % through clever tool organisation – with the Weidmüller tool trolley for electrical cabinet construction.

It allows you to organise tools and work materials in such a way that they can be accessed immediately at any time. This is ensured, for example, by the variable tool inserts, the intelligent equipment and the high quality. This gives you more time for the essentials.

Speaker: Daniel Weingart (Black Belt Lean) – Weidmüller

E3.WiringChecks – Digitally guided commissioning test

E3.WiringChecks supports the testing of a fully wired machine, vehicle or control cabinet before or during the commissioning phase. Results can be documented together with the E3.series data record. The digital fault descriptions serve as a basis for targeted processing and control acceptance.

Speaker: Daniele Beretta – Zuken Italy
