Intelligent Reuse of Schematic and Layout Modules
When electronic components are discontinued or long lead times necessitate the use of alternative components, significant effort may be required to update the PCB designs and modules affected by the change.
The designs and modules affected by the change must be identified reliably. The effects of any deviations from the specification of the discontinued component must be assessed and, if necessary, verified in a simulation. The affected circuit diagrams must be updated as part of a controlled change process – which can result in considerable manual and error-prone effort. In our webinar, we will show you how these activities can be automated with Zuken’s CR-8000 Enterprise PCB Design System.
Using specific examples, we will demonstrate:
- How to reliably identify affected schematic and layout modules using an electronic where-used function.
- How to use a schematic module library to update all affected designs in a single pass.
- How to update the affected layouts with intelligent assistance.
- How to reuse layout modules, including their layer mappings, even if the number of layers in the active design is greater than in the layout module.
With these intelligent features, CR-8000 enables a much faster and safer revision of all affected design data.
