Accelerate the wire harness design and manufacturing process with an updated interface and new capabilities
We’re thrilled to announce the enhancements for the upcoming release of Harness Builder for E3.series. With its modern user interface and new features, the intention of this release is to simplify and optimize the wire harness design process, resulting in increased productivity and efficiency.
Explicitly designed for harness manufacturers, Zuken’s Harness Builder for E3.series is an industry-proven application. Harness Builder for E3.series excels at capturing and enhancing almost every aspect of the entire process, from the initial quote to design and then to manufacturing.
A modern and streamlined look for an enhanced user experience
One of the most significant improvements is the user interface revamp, which is now more intuitive and user-friendly than ever before. The window configuration enhances productivity with detailed sections for reports, exports, analysis, and utility tools to streamline the navigation.
During installation, the new modularly-driven interface allows customers to choose the export options they require for the plug-in. End users will save time by finding only the lists of export machine options they want to see.
Adding real-time updating context windows for tools such as the additional parts editor, data sheet viewer, and view/edit strip lengths allows users to jump from connector to connector. The window data updates automatically to the latest selection. The ability to quickly modify devices will reduce extra effort and time during the design process. Additional windows are available to promptly access project definition tools, such as the wire list import and the item number editor.
Another significant change to the user interface is grouping core settings in one location under the main Harness Builder window. End users will determine the default selection mode under the base settings to apply to all reports and exports. Using the shared settings makes finding and keeping consistent report data more manageable.
Effortlessly protect your intellectual property with automated watermarking technology
Automatic watermark generation makes sharing harness drawings a breeze. Manufacturers can define controls such as the number of watermarks to add, rotation, placement, and other text properties. The watermark feature generates a PDF copy of the active sheet, including the watermark texts.
Automate wire harness dimensioning for quality and efficiency
Automation of wire segment dimensioning is now available using the new automated dimensioning toolbar to improve the wire harness documentation process further. This new feature simplifies the previously tedious and lengthy task of populating segment dimensioning for an entire harness. Designers can populate segment dimensioning over a whole wire harness by using only one mouse click.
It is simple to standardize the dimensioning by configuring the dimension settings for the project. Additionally, a verification tool is available for the dimensions. If segments are missing dimensioning, the message window will display any warnings and highlight the affected branches.
Improved wire harness definitions for consistent release tracking
Defining a harness is now easier with a new approach in Harness Builder 2023 for E3.series. The user can choose how to identify a wire harness based on attributes, a drawing sheet, the complete project, or bringing together an entire assembly through structure nodes. The reports and exports can then apply and use the wire harness name and version for release tracking.
Increase productivity with improved splice documentation methods
The new release refreshes the method of adding documentation for splices. Quickly place the on-sheet splice documentation for multiple splices using the new splice context menu options. By selecting several splices and then running the command, the tables will appear individually, ready to insert into the documentation. Users can also find the heat shrink selection command using the new context menu options for faster access.
Accurate calculations with enhanced twisted pair handling
The 2023 release improves the handling of twisted wire length calculations for detailed reports. Harness Builder 2023 for E3.series now considers factors relating to the number of twists and material composition to ensure that length calculations are accurate, preventing short wires during wire cutting that can lead to rework and waste.
Strengthen the precision of wire harness estimates using the braiding cost and weight estimator
The addition of a wiring harness braiding cost and weight estimator is available in the new release. It provides a precise estimate of the cost and weight of material for the braiding machines. Automatically calculating the braiding requirements is essential to create an accurate customer quotation.
Introduce connected manufacturing with nVent HOFFMAN PWA-6000 support
Harness Builder 2023 for E3.series continues to improve the design to manufacturing process for wiring harness manufacturers. We are expanding the connected manufacturing capabilities by adding a new export option to nVent PWA-6000 for wire processing.
