Tech Tip: Creating Panel Models and Inserting STEP Files

For the past several E3.series releases, creating models from STEP files, have been significantly simplified. STEP files offer a 3D representation of objects and are now more efficiently utilized within E3.series, streamlining model creation.

Enhanced Integration of STEP Files

The integration of STEP files into the E3.series has been enhanced to allow for the automatic generation of 2D views. This new feature eliminates the previous requirement for separate 2D DXF/DWG files for each view of the model. Moreover, E3.series now automatically determines the model size using the object’s dimensions in the STEP file, further simplifying the process.

Demonstrating Ease of Use: Creating a Basic Panel Model

To illustrate the simplicity and efficiency of this updated feature, a video demonstration is available showcasing the creation of a basic Panel Model using a 3D STEP file. It’s important to note that utilizing the Import Step Model feature requires an additional add-on feature license.
