CR-8000 Design Force signal analysis

Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Design Basics

On-demand webinar

Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) is typically defined as the ability of a product to function in its environment without introducing electromagnetic disturbance. The product must:

  • Tolerate a specified degree of interference
  • Not generate more than a specified amount of interference
  • Be self-compatible

In this webinar we will examine options for performing a quick EMC analysis where no setup is required, and also more in-depth EMC analysis options that are driven by EMC properties assigned during schematic capture. The process to perform an EMC analysis will be demonstrated, with a subsequent review of the results. Methods for corrective action will also be demonstrated followed by verification of issue resolution. In the Zuken CR-8000 flow there is no need for intermediate files to interface with third party tools for EMC analysis. All EMC checks are conducted directly within the PCB Design tool, CR-8000 Design Force.

What you will learn:

  • Design tips for achieving good EMC results
  • Methods to mitigate EMC concerns
  • How to specify compliance thresholds and set weightings
  • How to check up to 36 different EMC rules including:
  • Track shielding
  • Return path track
  • Decoupler placement
  • Direction Shielding

Who should attend:

  • PCB designers
  • Electrical engineers
  • Engineering managers.
