On-demand webinar on wire harness design automation basics – Part 2
(Updated as of September 2023)
Following part 1 of our two-part webinar series, this webinar delves deeper into the stages of wire harness design, transitioning from the logical to the physical aspects.
Starting with the foundational data from the wiring diagram and topology, we efficiently transfer harness information to mechanical engineering. In this phase, we route the harness within its native 3D environment. Subsequently, we demonstrate the precise conversion of this 3D harness into a 2D representation, resulting in an accurate 1:1 formboard.
For participants without pre-existing E3.series knowledge, we provide comprehensive guidance on constructing a formboard from scratch or utilizing Excel files, incorporating a bill of materials and connection lists. Upon completing the formboard, we’ll detail the process of generating essential manufacturing and service data. Concluding the session, we’ll address the systematic approach to identifying, managing, and documenting project data and changes.
This webinar aims to equip engineers, whether experienced or new to the field, with valuable insights into the physical aspects of wire harness design.
